PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (4 May 2020) – Life is different now for everyone, but for classic car expert Donald Osborne, ASA and his team at Automotive Valuation Services, work seems to be sustaining the twists in the road presented by the international Covid-19 pandemic. Automotive Valuation Services is a full-service consulting and appraisal business dedicated to providing world class experience, knowledge, professionalism and ethics in serving its clients’ wide range of needs. As many others have experienced, the Palm Springs, California-based firm was required to approach their normal routine and office practices differently when shelter-in-place smartworking mandates were put in place in March. Yet, despite these changes, the day-to-day work for Automotive Valuation Service’s Scott King and Brian Sevy has remained relatively the same due to the firm’s professional aptitude and efficiency in meeting the ongoing needs for automotive appraisals across North America and Europe.

“Some things are difficult to postpone as there are timelines to which some people need to adhere and that’s where we can step in,” says Scott King, AM, appraiser with Automotive Valuation Services who manages the Palm Springs office. “Despite this unprecedented situation, life does go on and we do our best to continue helping people in the way we can. Even if we can’t do in-person appraisal inspections right now, having access to good quality, client-supplied photographs allows us to keep on working to meet the needs of our clients and we feel good about that.”

Fortunately, and in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and the American Society of Appraisers’ (ASA) guidelines, a professional automotive appraisal does not need to be done in person. In fact, the team at Automotive Valuation Services is experienced and accustomed in guiding their clients remotely by working through detailed information and photographs on the computer. It results in the creation of a professional and legally robust appraisal report for all types of appraisal assignments including Marketable Cash Value, Fair Market Value and Replacement Value Comparable.

“We are gratified that in this challenging time, our clients established and new are still seeking the experienced, professional service we offer,” says Founder Donald Osborne. “It is a testament to what we have built and what we represent and we are pleased to be able to continue our work in serving them.”

Donald Osborne’s team at Automotive Valuation Services collectively offers a broad range of experience and knowledge across many automotive marques, varying regions coast-to-coast, multiple continents and several languages, though all reports are written in English. Everyone who works for the firm shares a deep love for automobiles and this translates into everything they do.

When asked about the type of projects that cross his desk, Scott King isn’t able to discuss any specifics to protect the privacy of his clients, however adds, “We work with vehicles from the early 20th century Brass-Era to today’s sports and exotics and everything in between… It’s exciting for me not just because of the cars, but because of the interesting people who own them.”
